We're thrilled to announce that Canva has been awarded the prestigious title of Top Career Site for 203/4!

Canva is a very appealing site visually but also in how you use it. They scored to be in the top 7 of career sites in Australia based on the data - 145+ data points across the entire career site and application process.

Then our judges added a human lens to the results - and came together to discuss, debate and decide on teh final winner - and we all did it choosing our favourite fantasy location - because you have to have fun, right!?  They evaluated, each finalist's site for its ease of use and functionality, the overall feel, the messaging and if the branding is consistent all the way through the process. It became very clear that they have taken great care in considering the end user.

They have kept their messaging succinct and on brand, optimised for inclusivity, resulting in an excellent overall user experience. There are still things that can be improved.

A lot of experiences for most websites don't maintain corporate branding when to the ATS or CRM - just keeping the one logo across different systems would be good but I think it's something we need to talk to the vendors about.  Overall, Canva is a very worthy win!

Here's what the judges liked about Canva's Careers site:

 Immediately feels like Canva
Outstanding job ads that talk to the candidate - this is what we should all be doing!
Fabulous use of colour, white space, and pictures - the prettiest website!
Extensive use of video that tells great stories
Easy to find jobs, job families, and a talent community to join - although the branding dropped away when joining the talent community in particular.
A great resource page for job seekers
Loved the horizontal scroll which is very unusual but would appeal to designers, product, and engineers - and was like going on an adventure but sometimes you get delightfully lost!
Excellent content

Our Mission

Through researching and awarding the 'Career Website Award', Talent Table aims to improve the corporate career site and the experience of candidates making it easier for our talent acquisition community to engage candidates and recruit their people.

Why?

Because your career website offers more than a mere listing of job openings. It presents an opportunity to captivate prospective employees with your compelling employer brand, offer glimpses into your company culture and values, and furnish vital information for the hiring process

No matter the initial path applicants take to explore job opportunities, they will eventually discover your career website. While statistics from Recruiting Trends 2020 reveal that 54.9% of applicants utilise internet job boards, 32.3% rely on career networks, and 31.1% turn to search engines to discover vacancies or potential employers, following our advice will ultimately lead them to your career website.

What is the Career Website Research Project?

Talent Table partners with Digitaal-Werven (translates to Digital Recruiting) and Bas van de Haterd to roll out the research project in Australia.

This research, conducted annually, has been carried out conducted in the Netherlands since 2009. During that time, the research has resulted in career sites in the Netherlands improving to be some of the best in the world.

Our vision is to provide insight and research into career websites in Australia to help our community understand what good looks like and deliver a great career site and experience for their business. And in the process, raise the standards of career websites in Australia.

The Research
