Career Website Research

Through researching and awarding the 'best career site' annually, Talent Table aims to improve the corporate career site and the experience of candidates making it easier for our talent community to engage candidates and recruit for their organisation.

Why does your career site matter?

With talent shortages persisting in many industries, optimising your company's careers section is a strategic and attainable way to attract top candidates.

Recent statistics show that job seekers are increasingly turning to online platforms for their job search, with

  • 79% of candidates using social media in their job search and
  • 60% starting their job search on Google.

No matter the initial path applicants take to explore job opportunities, they will eventually discover your career website. By enhancing your website's career pages, you create an open job funnel that invites potential applicants into your company's world.

A well-crafted careers section empowers candidates, allowing them to explore your company thoroughly before applying. As a result, applicants feel more invested in the process, having chosen your organisation based on a comprehensive understanding of what you offer.

This mutual selection process often leads to better-fit hires and improved retention rates.

We are about to begin our 2025 research with the announcement made at Talenpalooza in March. We will be adding more questions on website accessibility for people with a disability and looking closer at how organisations define remote and hybrid working for the people

What is the Career Website Research Project?

Talent Table partners with Digitaal-Werven (translates to Digital Recruiting) and Bas van de Haterd to roll out the research project in Australia.

This research, conducted annually, has been carried out conducted in the Netherlands since 2009. During that time, the research has resulted in career sites in the Netherlands improving to be some of the best in the world.

Our vision is to provide insight and research into career websites in Australia to help our community understand what good looks like and deliver a great career site and experience for their business. And in the process, raise the standards of career websites in Australia.
